My Home 01

Nina Griscom

Nina with her two favorite tykes.

A collection of master drawings hangs on either side of the living room fireplace. Nearby, 18th century marble columns were a gift from Bill Blass. The mid 19th century torso standing on the tobacco leaf table by Garrison Rousseau, was a present from Leo (Nina's husband). In the corner, a French empire column lamp was purchased from Belgian dealer, Axel Veervoodt.

In the dining room a set of Anglo Indian chairs and a table from The Robert Lighton British Khaki Collection are set for an evening book party. Atop the table a group of ivory and ebony candlestick holders, a present from Bill Blass, serve as a centerpiece.

Nina’s dressing room, covered in a Rose Tarlow paisley paper, contains Nina’s large collection of Bill Blass dresses.

A pair of Italian sconces from the late 1800s, purchased at Christies, hang on either side of the master bed. The French bedside tables are antiques

The master bedroom. The wallpaper, curtains, bed, and slipper chairs are covered in Rose Tarlow fabric.

A view of the library. A bench covered in leopard print in front of the fireplace and a French Empire chair with an ornate ormolu back were both purchased from Reymer –Jourdon Antiques.

Live the Fall

Sequins - Knits - Gray - Exotic

Hermes

Calvin Klein
Narciso Rodriguez
Chanel Jewelery
Chanel Jewelery
White J12 Chanel Watch

Gold

Pearls

Coach tote Bag

Gucci Clutch Bag

For this fall , rescue your turtleneck, it could be pure, treated wool, or 100% cashmere. Calvin Klein did it right, so did Narciso who went much further with knit and made pants and coats out of it, if you want "the classy classic" then just run into Hermes en get a black cashmere sweater or just get a black cashmere one!

Gray as we said before is the "it" thing.

The jewels:

Pearls, white, gold, and silver.. Yes gold is back! And yes silver stays! White's on the top, so you can still get the J12 Chanel's famous watch, the one everybody has... but now there is "the new white J12": white gold, black ceramics diamonds all over it! just 5 of them, beautiful to watch, now lets see who can get it! By now keep on trying the pearls, and more or less in Mademoiselle Chanel's words: if you own the fake ones, just pretend you have the real ones, and if you have the real ones wear them as you would the fake ones.

In Bags:

Clutch bags (Gucci has great ones or Fendi), for all day long! start practicing by carrying an envelope all day... but if you get tired of it, just put it into another one: a tote bag (Coach or Vuitton). That would be a sublime moment you pulling out a clutch bag out of a tote bag. Go for the metallic the shiny... any color. Or get a gold back, gold leather or gold buckets, if it sparkles then you made it! Still the alligator, piton , ostrich, and fish leather.. Yes! FISH LEATHER! It is a good alternative to the exotic leather wave, and now you will refer to your hand bag as "my salmon", not just because of the color!

The iPod family have arrived!

Apple just introduce the world to their new group of " i music" products, a new selection of iPods that includes a new version for the holidays of the "iPod shuffle", the "iPod nano", the new named "iPod classic" and the latest one the "iPod touch".

The iPod shuffle still 1GB and you can still get it at a cost of $79, but it will come in four new colors. Burgundy red*, light aqua, mint green, purple and the original silver, just choose to suit your mood, another thing here:* now you can get a product "red iPod shuffle".

The "iPod nano" "A little video for everyone"

Nano been re invented, in order to supply costumer needs, apple created an "iPod nano" that let you watch video! It comes as wider as the (classic) iPod original version, but is shorter, and it comes with a two inch screen , half an inch smaller than the pop called 'iPod video', but with the highest resolution ever put in an apple product screen, which means you will watch videos exactly with the same pixel resolution in the new nano as in it's bigger version. The nano will change it colors for the same ones the shuffle has, and will change their interface, bring more games, as well as cover flow so you can find your music by album cover art work, more storage, and full metal enclosure and... will reduce it cost, the 4GB will be at $149 (only in silver) and the 8GB (all colors) can be get at $199. Very in the classic mood as always...Yes! there is and will be only white and black versions!

The New it thing is the "iPod touch": the "iPhone" technology applied to an iPod, it will have a three and a half inch screen, and will be 8mm thin, it features the revolutionary, multi touch user interface, a great interface, everything by album cover art, and cover flow, with video (watch videos, movies, TV shows, podcasts) radio and photos, plus Wi-Fi network, safari web browser that will be able to reach and get into any web network so you can get online with any public Wi-Fi service network, with Yahoo, Google, Youtube, facebook support, an a Wi-Fi music store application, so you can preview buy and download. In The Tends NEW YORK CITY

3.1 Phillip Lim Ralph Lauren DKNY Lacoste Lacoste 3.1 Phillip Lim DKNY Anna Sui Anna Sui Ralph Lauren
New York Fashion Week was here, so was the trendsetters, the great names, the fashionistas, the sartorialist doing great shoots of the off runway fashion statements. Models, make up, parties, and clothes all over New York
The Main Thing: there wasn't one, everything was very mixed, very floral (well is spring 2008) lots of color, solids, patters, hats will be a must have! prominent hats...Oh and legs! And yes we did find something "main", regarding to colors: white, black, pink, purple, red and yellow are the ones, maybe New York find out that last season's collections were almost in the same path of tones and structure, then Paris made a splash of colors and trends for Fall/ Winter 07. Now it was time for New York to hit back with the Spring/ Summer 2008 Fashion Week!

Black on Black ...for the end of times

Dsquared, Costume National, Emporio Armani John Galliano Fall 2007 Junya Watanabe Fall 2007
Alexander McQueen Fall 2007
Black on Black. It is clearly the statement for men, (next to the overrated and whimsical, but lovely and practical gray) the trend is openly subversive, unsteady times: global warming, global terror, globalization; are asking for you to survive with grace, to take risks, help decrease the effects by turning of the lights,
"that.. switch thing". Help the cause and live in black! maybe you might find yourself into real sophisticated style!

Sebastian Canedo
Bienvenidos a Sebastián Canedo!

Icons 02 Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs (born April 9, 1963 in New York City) is an American fashion designer. He attended the High School of Art and Design and graduated in 1981. From there, Jacobs entered the Parsons School of Design in New York City. At Parsons, Jacobs won the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award in 1984, and in the same year was also awarded the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award and the Design Student of the Year Award.
While still at Parsons, Jacobs designed and sold his first line of hand knit sweaters. His first collection that he designed was for Reuben Thomas, Inc. under the Sketchbook label. At this time in 1984, Jacobs formed his partnership with Robert Duffy , Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc., which continues to this day. In 1986, backed by Onward Kashiyama USA, Inc., Jacobs designed his first collection bearing the Marc Jacobs label. In 1987, Jacobs received the distinct honor of being the youngest designer to be awarded the fashion industries highest tribute: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy joined Perry Ellis in 1989. Robert as the President and Marc as the Vice-President of women's design to create the designer collection and in addition, he oversaw the design of the various women's licensees. In 1992, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, once again bestowed Jacobs with a great honor: The Women's Designer of the Year Award. Following his studies at the Parsons School of Design, he became prominent on the fashion scene when he designed a "grunge" collection for Perry Ellis, leading to his immediate dismissal. Jacobs is currently the artistic director for Louis Vuitton, a position he assumed in 1997. At Vuitton Jacobs has spearheaded such notable collaborations as Stephen Sprouse's graffiti bags, Takashi Murakami's pastel-colored accessories, and the first ready-to-wear line marketed under the Louis Vuitton imprimateur (designed by Jacobs). His own clothing lines, Marc Jacobs and the less expensive diffusion line Marc By Marc Jacobs (which he created in 2000), are also extremely popular. Jacobs has sometimes bucked prevailing fashion trends. In Spring 2004/2005, when designers were following the "safari theme", he made his collection completely lady-like and the catwalk which the models walked on had an archway of 450,000 roses. Jacobs' Fall 2005 collection received sharply mixed reviews. In 2006, he is set to bring out a watch collection this year under the brand of Marc Jacobs. These watches will feature classic and timeless aesthetics with a slightly vintage feel. His clothes are available in a few boutiques around the world including Boston, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Paris, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei. In 2007, he was ranked as 8th on Out magazine list of "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America".

Icons 02 Marc Jacobs

Source: wikipedia
